This time, it's personal.
Apparently, questioning the comparison of the upcoming "V For Vendetta" with DW Griffith's infamous "Birth of a Nation" means that I'm a terrorist sympathizer.
To wit:

This film sucks exactly that way.
Because it argues that Western society should be destroyed in favor of violent Nietchezian supermen running things. OF COURSE we question your patriotism.
Keep in mind, this commentator hasn't even seen the movie yet. Authoritarian cultists, unite!

Maybe, but the masochist in me is strong.
Me too I suppose.
I think that it's a combination of being shocked and appalled at the level of willfull ignorance, and an unwillingness to accept that ignorance for being voluntary, and not, say, the result of some comic book supervillian's mind-control device.
It's not that they have a different opinion that both repels and compels me. It's the reaction to the opinions of others. This is the sort of rage that Authoritarian cultists have the patent on.
