Kerry Pacer is a Brave Woman.
Ah...the anger...feel it flooding my veins....
Kerry Pacer was used to the whispering behind her back, the
name-calling and the snickering when she walked down the hall. But when almost
the entire student body at White County High School booed as she accepted a rose
from a female friend during a Valentine's Day (news - web sites) program last month, she knew it was time to do something.

"I just don't think it's right to have a club like this. It
ain't in the Bible," said Gary Colwell, 18, a brick mason who grew up in the
area. "We see them walking around holding hands, and it makes everybody feel
uncomfortable."
And that, in a nutshell, is why my friend Charles cannot live in his home state.
At the end of the day, its about whether or not he makes Billy-bob here uncomfortable.

i am a mother 34 of a brilliant , beautiful younglady whom is friends with Miss. Pacer and thanks to Kerrys courage she finally confirmed to me that she was gay. At first it blew me away for a moment and all the dreams i had had for my child seemed to be lost. But as a devoted and loving parent i accept my child and will forever stand behind her thru this or any other of lifes challenges.Before anyone throws stones at the youth of today think hard about one thing...If it was your child would you want the world to treat them as less a person or condem them? I think not.
To Kerry and all the other teens...Hold your heads up high and be proud and know you are loved.

I applaud you for accepting your child as the person she is, and not the person she wish she would be.
If only more parents were willing to see that sexual orientation is no more definitive of the human soul than skin color. Our capacity for love, deep and powerful and emotional, is a spark of divinity. To practice tolerance of your daughter's self is to act divinely.
